bargain for, bargain about〔over〕

这两个短语都可作“讨价还价”解。其区别在于:

1.bargain for有较明确的目的性,即“为…讨价还价”; 而bargain about〔over〕则侧重对象、内容,即“就…讨价还价”。

2.bargain for的宾语多为具体的物品,如a car, a desk等,不可接price等条款性抽象名词; 而bargain about〔over〕的宾语多为price等条款性抽象名词,较少接具体名词。例如:

如果把about换成for,则意为“对要买的商品讨价还价”。
